_A_u_s_t_r_a_l_i_a_n _a_t_h_l_e_t_e_s _d_a_t_a _s_e_t

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

     These data were collected in a study of how  data on various
     characteristics of the bloood varied with sport body size and sex
     of the athlete.

_U_s_a_g_e:

     data(ais)

_F_o_r_m_a_t:

     A data frame with 202 observations on the following 13 variables.

     _r_c_c red blood cell count, in 10^{12} l^{-1}

     _w_c_c while blood cell count, in 10^{12} per liter

     _h_c hematocrit, percent

     _h_g hemaglobin concentration, in g per decaliter

     _f_e_r_r plasma ferritins, ng dl^{-1}

     _b_m_i Body mass index, kg cm^{-2} 10^2

     _s_s_f sum of skin folds

     _p_c_B_f_a_t percent Body fat

     _l_b_m lean body mass, kg

     _h_t height, cm

     _w_t weight, kg

     _s_e_x a factor with levels 'f' 'm'

     _s_p_o_r_t a factor with levels 'B_Ball' 'Field'  'Gym' 'Netball' 'Row'
          'Swim' 'T_400m'  'T_Sprnt' 'Tennis' 'W_Polo'

_D_e_t_a_i_l_s:

     Do blood hemoglobin concentrations of athletes in
     endurance-related events differ from those in power-related
     events?

_S_o_u_r_c_e:

     These data were the basis for the analyses that are reported in
     Telford and Cunningham (1991).
