_M_A_T_L_A_B _s_t_d _f_u_n_c_t_i_o_n

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

     Computes the standard deviation of the values of 'x'.

_U_s_a_g_e:

     std(x, flag = 0)

_A_r_g_u_m_e_n_t_s:

       x: numeric vector or matrix

    flag: numeric scalar. If '0', selects unbiased algorithm. If '1',
          selects biased algorithm (currently unsupported).

_D_e_t_a_i_l_s:

     Simply invokes 'sd'.

_V_a_l_u_e:

     Return value depends on argument 'x'. If vector, returns the
     standard deviation. If matrix, returns vector containing the
     standard deviation of each column.
