README - Disc-Cover

1. Main Idea

This little script builds a cover for audio cds. It gets information from the
Internet (www.cddb.com) or from a cddb-entry file and produces a Latex, Dvi,
Postscript or Pdf file which contains the front and back cover on one page.
The front cover has the title and artist of the cd. Besides this information
the back cover also has all tracks listed, preceded with its track-number and
followed by the length of the track. The back cover lists the total length of
the cd too. The sides of the back cover contain the artist and cd title.

Two other formats are supported. A simple text output and an output that can
be used with cdlabelgen (http://www.red-bean.com/~bwf/software/cdlabelgen/),
another cover builder.

2. What do you need

See the INSTALL file for all details related to installation issues.

3. Features

- Outputs in Latex, Dvi, Postscript, Pdf, Cddb entry, Text and a format to use
  with cdlabelgen.

- Supports caching of cddb entries in a directory that can be shared with
  other cddb-aware programs.

- Connects with a cddb server to get the disc title, artist and list of track
  titles.

- Documentation in Dutch, English, German and Spanish.

4. How does it work?

The normal way of working with Disc-Cover is easy. Just insert an audio cd in
your cdrom player, fire up your Internet connection and run disc-cover. This
will provide you with a Postscript file ready for printing.
