Dear OpusTeX users:

My macros are designed to simplify coding of music scores. They can help you
in the following aspects:

1. To work with chords instead of individual notes so that notes and points
   can be shifted automatically if needed, and accents and slurs can be
   associated with chords instead of notes.

2. To use automatic-beam macros which select the direction, slope and height
   of the beam. They generate satisfatory results in most cases, even for
   those with changes of stem direction and/or staff.

3. Automatic spacing.

My macros are not fully functional yet. They have been tested with
OpusTeX 0.73.

The following is a list of files.

  a3.bat A three-pass batch file for auto spacing when opusflex is not
               used;
  a5.bat       A five-pass batch file for auto spacing when opusflex is used;
  auto.c       The auto-spacing program;
  def.tex      The file of macros;
  mendelss.tex First part of Op. 19, No. 1 by F. Mendelsson;
  readme.txt   This file;
  test1.tex    An example;
  test2.tex    An example;
  usage.txt    A description of macros.

There is a change since the version distributed with OpusTex063: all notes
in a chord are now treated as equal, and written in one section in either
ascending order or decending order; they are not required to be broken into
sections any more.
